youll be able to get a non-celeron chip, about 512 MB ram, 60 gig drive, 10/100/B/G networking DVD/CDRW and a 15 inch widescreen. It should be more than sufficient for what you'll be using it for at school.

it isnt good for gaming, but for word, photoshop, visio, even audio applications, it's been pretty decent.
you probably dont need to spend more than $1200 on a great laptop unless you need to play games on it
