they didnt know what the new one was about. it was produced pretty quickly and for all the Church knew, it was just probably a jab at Hayes.
Cruise knew what the old one was about, and to be honest it was a lot more critical toward scientology specifically than this new one.
and remember hte ohter one had specific jabs at cruise himself and his sexual orientation
