I guess I just don't see it being an end-all-be-all of mods that people make it out to be

... Waaay back when UO was king, UO assist was essential, the rest were nice to haves... are the WoW interfaces like this, and which are critical?

Anyone that raids end game instances will say CT Raid Assist is required...and I agree. Everything else is simply for easing routine functions and making cosmetic changes. I use a lot of mods, but I can still play the game without them. I just play better using them.

If you are a rogue, I can give an example.

and a 12 warrior and i have not found a great need for any. What would you suggest as the right site to review mods for download?

Obviously the worldofXXX gaming sites have significantly more bandwidth than some guild's home page portal.

Picture yourself in a larger group...say 10+ people and you're a healer. I think before, you could not drag the characters names out of the raid window so that you can always see their health without a mod. Now, you are able to do so without a mod. .jpg could answer that better, but I know there will be some mods you would want even without pvping.

I can say from a pvp standpoint, the mods give me an advantage. It's slight, but I consider myself tougher to beat with the mods than without.

I don't know when exactly they introduce raid UI into the default client, but it's still considered inferior to ctraid, so noone uses it.

prior to that, ctraid was the only serious way to heal a raid.

From a non end game perspective...CTRA loses it's worth.

I couldn't imagine playing without Gatherer.

The mod will keep track of nodes you've collected so you know where to return to next time to see if they are spawned.

No doubt it increases the resources you could gather compared to someone without it...whether or not that makes it the 'end-all-be-all' mod is different for everyone though.

...

Because it records where you get a resource and what the resource is. It's an efficiency thing really.
