Something's come up suddenly with a company I interviewed with last year. Nothing concrete though so I don't want to get my hopes up yet just to see them screwed again by the immigration system.

thats for her, me and two kids. medical, dental, opt and 10$ copay on scripts. and even vada's orthodonic braces are covered.
but thats thru the hospital's group rate since their doc's office (where my wife works) is attached to the hospital.

wait you are a student, right? You should be able to get crazy student rates.
anyhow, make up some little business. print some letterhead and some business cards. Join the local Chamber of Commerce for like 100 bucks per year. Then get in on their group rate health insurance. They pool all the local members of the chamber and their employees and get some pretty decent rates. As long as you are a Chamber member...the insurance program is available to you.
