During final arguments Thursday, Williams' attorney, Joe Friedberg, suggested that Williams had the misfortune of spending too much time chatting with the two female waitresses who testified against him during the trial.
He introduced himself to them while he stood at the bar, so they were able to identify him, Friedberg noted.
The sentence, Burke said, addressed the lack of respect toward women that underscored the Oct. 6 team party described as a "floating orgy."
